About the editor.
Welcome. You’ve found my business, Rabbit Rabbit Editorial. I’m Kate Mercier, your friendly neighborhood editor. I’ve been an editor since the late ‘90s, when I went from being an intern at a lifestyle magazine in San Francisco to a full-time editor at a newswire. Since then, I’ve been hired to edit just about anything that can be read. Believe me, it’s a long list that ranges from celebrity blogs to speculative fiction, from memoir to media, from erotica to clinical studies. I’ve spent most of my career as a generalist, which suited me just fine: I am proud to know a little about a lot of things. But now that I’m in my middle age, I find myself drawn to projects that align deeply with my own interests — namely, a lifelong study of witchcraft and the occult. The call to niche has sounded and I have answered with a somewhat tentative “OK?”
This doesn’t mean that I will not consider projects that aren’t centered on witches; I have a few other niches I occupy, including travel memoir, women’s stories, and horror.
